Our most recent label mix installment comes from FELT, an imprint led by Copenhagen-based DJ and producer Fergus Jones, also known as Perko. In the inception of FELT, Jones aimed to release records that are "timeless, minimal, and rooted in soundsystem culture," a mission that is evident to any casual listener. 

Over the past two years, Jones has delivered an impressive collection of records for labels such as Carrier, Civilistjävel, and Princess Diana of Wales, among others. Each record varies significantly from the others, yet somehow retains a distinctive quality that characterizes the sound of Perko and the FELT imprint.

Can you describe your label mix?

100% upcoming FELT material. Most of it will be released in the coming year.

What inspired you to start a label?

Civilistjävel! sending me an album, and finding The Catburgers master tapes in the attic.

Does your label have a sound or a mission?

There’s definitely a specific sound to everything on the label, but I struggle to put it into words. I would hope that listening to all the releases, and this mix, will help that sound make sense.

What's your A&R process?

Very minimal. Everything usually comes together very naturally, but I try to guide each release in certain ways, making small suggestions here and there. I’m very lucky to work with some extremely talented and inspiring people.
