Root Angel: Reissue [IC019]
A reissue of Sasha Manick's album, originally released on November 20, 2016, via AMEN Records. This fully remastered edition features two previously unreleased tracks from the era, the original version of the title track, and selected works from Root Angel Remixes (2017, AMEN).
Released nine years ago, this album captured a moment of intense individuation - an attempt, through the alchemy of creativity, to resolve the conflict of polarities: the conscious and the unconscious, Pagan roots and Christian mysticism, primal Chaos and divine Structure. The music and art became the embodiment of the transcendent function - a living process wherein these contradictions were forged into unity.
This album marked the point of origin for a nine-year cycle, a period saturated with deep metamorphosis and exploration. This internal process is mirrored in the transmutation of the Infinity Base Cross symbol (a new iteration of alchemical Sulfur) into the Vessel of Love.
This period resonates with the astrological Nodal Reversal (Half-Return of the Lunar Nodes) - a karmic milestone for the reconfiguration of one’s path. This reissue signifies the completion and reimagining of the old program, initiating a new coil of the spiral.
The David Lynch-inspired visual aesthetic in the reissue teaser is no accident; it is a tribute to synchronicity. It was his work that served as the original catalyst, opening a portal to the unconscious - particularly through the experience of Twin Peaks (Season 2, Episode 22). The circle was completed by the appearance of a White Owl in a dream, one week prior to the Master’s passing. Now, these guides between worlds have accompanied me throughout the year, confirming a profound moment of transition.
