Here comes gr_ip’s latest experimental hardcore EP titled “(___)___”, or stylised as “(blank)spaces” on other streaming platforms.
Only a few months ago, in his introspective release ‘LIFE SO FAR’, gr_ip was looking inward to confront his own emotional landscape, searching for answers to reflect on past experiences and how they shaped his current feelings.
‘(___)___’ now takes this perspective and expands it by exploring his relationship with the outside world. It revolves around the dynamic of gaps in human interactions due to lack of communicating expectations and missing clarity in actions. These empty spaces often get filled with one-sided projections and good-intended assumptions, rather than the curiosity of exchange.
Sonically it tells the story of emotional-euphoria, composure, distortion and tension. This happens through the soundscape-like abstraction of melodic elements, (sometimes more, sometimes less) aggressive noise textures, hard hitting punches, vocalised questions of insecurity and glitched out rhythms keeping you in the respective framework. Enjoy the ride.
