Sunny Fields evolves around a post-industrial sound mixed with a broad range of influences from other genres.
The first new song, I started to work on for this album was Another Peaceful Scene. The lyrics came to me after listening to Throbbing Gristle's Very Friendly, a song that tells the story of a serial killer couple in great and gruesome detail. Their names are stated throughout the song with the words added: "very friendly". This contrast and the irony that lies withing the song inspired the lyrics and title of Another Peaceful Scene and can even be seen reflected in the album title Sunny Fields.
Recurring themes are insecticide, murder, warfare and depression.
6:05 is about Christa Lehmann, a German serial killer, who used the insecticide E605 (parathion) to poison her victims.
The title Fox with a Gravestone above comes from the statement of a child at a Christmas party in the family, who said, the picture it had drawn would show: "Ein Fuchs mit einem Grabstein darüber".
The live track was recorded at a small show at the Kinderkeller, a rehearsal space in a cellar, where the local bands presented their yearly progress. Around 100 people where there and some even opened their ears to my music :)
