This is a digital archive of the first Maxwellbean CD ever made. Created while I was studying in Berlin, this collection comes out of the time spent inside the Kraftwerk building during Atonal festival— a giant warehouse where the sound was overwhelmingly large but delicate, amplified by the huge and buoyant reverberance of the space. Each artist at Atonal crafted their performance for that hall, and these tracks are close to what I would have made for it.
Tracks 1–6 are the original “Eingang” EP, released to streaming. These are the Berlin tracks referenced above. Tracks 7–11 were made around the same time but not in Berlin, and were only ever included on the physical CD pressing. They were never released to streaming and are included here as part of the archive.
This expanded edition is the digital reconstruction of the original 25-copy CD pressing. It includes the original album artwork, the physical CD front and back covers, the promotional collage, and photographs of the physical disc as well as liner note PDF. All tracks were produced, mixed, and mastered by me, except Track 9, co-produced with Jack Xander.
