I decided to make this record after reading Mood Machine by Liz Pelly and being really frustrated with the way streaming has devalued the listening experience. I wanted to make an album that felt like a complete body of work, that you'd want to listen to front-to-back, that someone could have a meaningful experience with in the way that I have with my favorite albums.
and so, Ben, Uma (confidently pictured with me on the cover), & I went to a cabin in Upstate NY for five days in August 2025 to record it. We set up shop in the living room, used various instruments we found around the house, and, on the nicer days, moved the studio outside.
so this is an album to walk your dog to
or listen to on a plane/train/car ride
or to smoke a joint to;
to listen to in your headphones
and read the lyrics along with
and to find a favorite lyric from
and discover more in in time
or however else you love an album. i just hope ya love it
