Different kinds of sonic fiction.
At its most interesting, any music strikes me with its impossibility, and its evasion of the rules of traditional fidelity, theory or rationality. Every new sonic sensation is simultaneously like a new sensory lifeform. So there's this constant play between the sonic and the sensory.
Many “musics” have been accidents, they've actually been formed through errors. This observation is one of the keys to the question of this label’s existence and for the release presented here in particular. Grabbing ‘mistakes’ and imagining them into new audio lifeforms.
Precisely because the sounds presented here are/were molded into a piece of music, they don't come out as literary; the literary doesn't work in this space. So not only is it the literary that's useless, there's no need for representation, for the signified, for the law, or for anything. The sound is (un)theorising itself.
A free play of linkages where there are things beyond control.
No long texts and (unw(o)nted) musings next time.
Chunks of the text above come from Kodwo Eshun's "More Brilliant Than The Sun" - itself a work of Sonic Fiction, cosmology of volumes, sensory disturbances..
Thanks for all the help, thoughts and talks to Nino, Keta, Miles, Tengiz.
