"People Watching in Argyle Street" is a song I wrote after we had started to consider moving out of our crappy little town into somewhere else where we mentioned Glasgow being a consideration. I always loved Argyle Street, you've got fun shops there, my favourite obviously being HMV (or if you end up at Oswald Street, Missing Records is also amazing). Anyway, it's meant to be a sort of sad track but not really, more meant to just be about sitting and watching your surroundings which is something I love doing, it's such a unique thing watching other people go about their daily lives, you get that glimpse into what other people's worlds are like even if just for a few seconds and this track kind of goes into that and the wonder you find.
"Kim Pine" is named after the Scott Pilgrim character, who plays drums in the fictional in-universe band, Sex Bo-Bomb. I am a massive fan of Scott Pilgrim, I loved the movie, the anime and the game, I am yet to read the books but I am eagerly waiting to get my hands on them. Kim Pine was developed as a more kind of rock oriented electronic track, it contained a keyboard that is almost adjacent to an electric guitar which I found interesting and really dug. Kim Pine overall is just a more fun track.
I picked these both (and for this to be a double single) to showcase what Digital Personas will be like as it is a mixed bag of some sadder tracks with some other more energetic ones.
Composed, produced and mixed by Jude Kerr.
Mastered by Brooks "Voidscan" Davis at Structure|Edit Studio in Wildlight, FL.
