varispeed_2 is a long-form remix EP, made to invite durational modes of listening. It’s based on the tone-maps I experienced while mixing 8-hour raves, where individual tracks dissolved into a slowly evolving cloud of frequency and timbre. This project is a compositional reflection of that experience+the way I listen.

Each track is extended until lyric, rhythm, and harmony sit just beyond recognition. These remixes invite the listener to sink inward, stripping songs of their familiar beacons of form. As a counterpoint to the accelerated speed and sonic pressure of today’s music, varispeed_2 is an invitation to listen slowly.
