First release since Reality Be Overrated, and it's a juicy one. Like many tracks, I've been sitting on Aurora (in a practically finished state) for a while now (since October I believe). Unlike the other tracks, where I just didn't think they were good enough to release, I never felt that with Aurora. The issue was that I originally produced this for a Lo-Fi Spotify playlist collaboration with various other artists, that sadly never came to fruition. Looking back, I'm glad I didn't release it until now as it allowed me to (personally and with my music) move forward without rushing stuff. Onto the track itself, Aurora is my first real attempt at a Lo-Fi track. I remember it being the third iteration of a Lo-Fi style song, and once I had the chord progression, it all clicked. Listening, yeah it definitely is distinct from typical Lo-Fi sounds, but I really like the sonic environment created here. The drum pattern is varied and spread across the space for a wide sound, and the ethereal pads in the background give Aurora a calming feeling. Plus the two primary lead melodies I really enjoy as I always struggle to come up with melodies as opposed to chords, so having multiple that fit the structure of the song is a big win. A lot shorter than most releases, but the track is paced pretty well in this runtime, and anything cut was done as it made the track feel repetitive at points. Quite glad that Aurora can finally be out into the world as I've been listening to it often for the past 9/10 months, and have grown very fond of it. Hope y'all enjoy!
