MORE LIKE SHADOWS is the musical work of Toronto-based musician and visual artist Jordan Allen. Following the release of singles "Born Again" and "Hive Mind", More Like Shadows released its debut album, "Vacation Mode" via digital and streaming on October 3rd, 2025.

From the gritty opening track "Campaign Trail" to the dreamy stoner introspections of title track "Vacation Mode", the album often strikes a fine balance musically between lo-fi and hi-fi production values, playing as a compilation of contrasting emotions and experiences.

Noise-rock inspirations embody "Hive Mind" and "Born Again", with lyrics critiquing online addiction and the cults of herd mentality, while the kraut-rock bass and beats of "Matron's Eye" back abstract visions of Mother Earth's power and potential. Elsewhere, the gentle heartbreaks and midnight back-alley conversations of "Healer" recall 2000s-era Yo La Tengo, while similar nostalgia can be found in the Guided By Voices-inspired
office workers' anthem, "Back To The Lockdowns".

"Vacation Mode" is an album rooted in the speed of exhaustion, and our collective yearnings to escape. It is the feeling of being caught between humour and heartbreak, the nostalgia of before, and the emergency of now.
