Quiet Ruin’s debut EP Trim the Thread collects five tracks that live at the crossroads of darkwave, dream pop, and alt rock, with layers of shimmering guitars, low-slung bass, and spectral synths.
The songs explore themes of control, disconnection, isolation, and alienation. Private Life reflects the blurred boundaries between surveillance and distraction, while lead single Wretched Mess tackles personal implosion with frankness and dark humour.
Written and recorded over the last couple of years, Trim the Thread marks Quiet Ruin’s first solo project after years in bands and electronic collaborations. Lyrically, it offers a distilled, focused perspective on personal experiences and societal issues, all shaped by the turbulent times we’re living in.
The first Quiet Ruin album is set to follow in the near future.
