"Come Recover" originally appeared on Son Lux's Tomorrows album trilogy, and was later reimagined for the technicolor finale of the trio's score for Everything Everywhere All at Once, A24’s multiverse masterstroke. Here, it exists in yet another alternate reality as “Come Recover (Shelter)," a shimmering and delicate solo performance by Son Lux founder Ryan Lott. On a piano-like virtual instrument of his own making, Lott creates a foundation of intertwining, tentacular lines. Through it, a bright, slow-moving melody leaps and cascades downward in alternation with his voice. Where the film’s version was triumphant and propulsive, this latest exploration of the song is a vulnerable, patient plea.
