On “Fancy Free”, Larrison warps an uplifting tune, recomposing it in a more free-spirited, idiosyncratic form. The track opens with a harpsichord, traveling through a filter where it is subsequently wallowed and reshaped by a wah-wah pedal as the melody loops enchantingly back around. It seems to highlight Larrison’s unpredictable yet harmonious arrangements plucked and modified from his signature CZ-5000 synthesizer. “Rewind”, fitting for its title, arrives with a much more nostalgic ring. Shifting and frenetic key melodies scurry over a resounding, humming bass perfect to soundtrack the feeling of almost remembering, not quite forgetting something left in the corridors of the mind.
