“Reason” is a love letter, a longing to reconnect with lost childlike wonder. The song grapples with hardship and learned loneliness, and resolves to break free from that and return to tenderness. Rejecting isolation as the norm and acknowledging an inherent need for connection, it both stands apart from and sets the tone for Dog Shaped’s second single, “Please Hold”,  and upcoming EP.
