“Deepen” is the shimmering lead single from Gintė Preisaitė’s first solo release under that name, blurring the lines between composed pop, acoustic folk, and the psychedelic sample sources from a natural world of lush fantasy. Anchored by the Lithuanian artist’s experience as a graduate of Copenhagen’s Rhythmic Music Conservatory and her background composing for large ensembles, it’s a wide-eyed march of vulnerable melody emerging from a concréte forest of sound. It’s an unorthodox addition to Denmark’s world-class music scene, as FELT continues to surface essential documents of contemporary Scandinavian music.
