Orches Limita is the minimal / maximal project of Chad Beattie. Originating in Asheville, the project began as a one-off performance for the Asheville experimental concert series Drones In The Garden, accompanied by Mikey Powers and Charlie Boss. Beattie continues the project with solo hammered dulcimer, at times collaborating with Boss on upright bass. Orches Limita is an invitation to collaborative improvisation; we exist within the drones of everyday.

MAXIMALIMISERABLISM is the debut album of Orches Limita - an instrumental drone project based around the interpretation of the hammered dulcimer. Influences such as Charlemagne Palestine, La Monte Young, Iannis Xenakis, and William Basinski emerge consciously in this 6 track mood piece, yet the music is unique in the style, approach, and intention of improvisor Chad Beattie.

MAXIMALIMISERABLISM is the appendix of minimalism. Layered within mimicries of itself, harmonies pinched together by meticulously altered pitches; reverb settling and unsettling, winding and perusing the relationship between the space and the note; the unfortunate howl of the bleeding wolf. MAXIMALIMISERABLISM serves as an ode to exploratory composition.
