Lennie Rayen is at the most explorative and prolific stage of her career yet, and the Canadian solo artist’s new single “Give It Up” marks a bold return. The self-taught musician embraces a full fledged rock sound, a major sonic step forward for an artist who has long been determined to sculpt her work with honesty and conviction. The result finds Rayen transforming a song first written alone on guitar in her home studio into something unapologetically raw with the help of longtime collaborator, cleoemo, who produced, mixed, and mastered.
