BALANS is back with a new series tied to De Link, an initiative from Darko Esser and Jeroen Snik (Cadans). De Link is a studio complex which is musically shaped by a collective of talented producers from Nijmegen. It resulted in an extraordinary amount of amazing tunes being created within these walls. It seemed fitting to give some of this music a platform on our label.

For the first edition we will put a spotlight on four of these amazing homegrown talents: Zeronine, Arun Sepp, Locus Error and Theoson. All of them are strongly rooted and made waves in the local scene and far beyond. As producers they each have a very distinct sonic signature which remarkably fits like a glove in this compilation.

Just like his DJ sets, Zeronine is hard to pin down and quirky in his productions. A unique blend of funk-soaked grooves and freaky sound design that is as unpredictable as it is catchy, with an ambivalent vibe of hopeful darkness showcased in two very different tunes.

Arun Sepp influences cover a very broad historic range, which translates perfectly into his productions. Nostalgic Detroit melodies are effortlessly combined with modern 2025 production techniques and sound sculptures. With his two contributions he drops a clear calling card for the future.

Locus Error delivers the goods through distinct yet very different compositions. Her classical training comes to the forefront in Gentle Soul, with its beautifully layered and complex melodies while the relentless nature of her DJ sets is sonically captured in peaktime canon Alignment Failure.

Last but definitely not least are two leftfield, raw and uncompromising songs from Theoson. Drawing inspiration from punk, electro, EBM and techno, he developed a unique voice of his own. Powerful, unfiltered and in your face.
