On Peace Medal, the horizon is defined by the heat of the aftermath. Dahjyn presents a topography of scorched Americana and industrial erosion where the tempo slows to a sedimentary drag, mimicking the physical sensation of walking through deep ash. Collaborators Jesse Osborne-Lanthier and Asaël Richard-Robitaille construct a fidelity that feels deliberately compromised—marked by the texture of rust and tensile failure.
It is a token of survival that refuses to shine, reflecting a world where "peace" is simply the moment violence solidifies into memory. Merging cultural displacement with intense physical trauma, Ahrendt fuses songwriting, electronic experimentation, and doom of both guttural and beatific origins into a grand sonic calamity. It is a work suspended between comfort and anger: a "blanket to brawl in" for any who have lost a world, or those still searching for theirs.
