When making music, I always like to take bohemian concept and run with them. Often, I'm in an environment where those around me will make more polished, yet standard tracks. And given that a lot of the music industry boils down to simplified music from once ambitious contexts, I'd rather the music I produce be the latter. Even if it's probably not going to go anywhere commercial-wise, I've made my peace with that.

So how does that relate to a track that so happens to sound like an ocean? Wellllllllllllllll- okay, so a lot of the music I produce typically falls under an ambient aesthetic; I like how softer resonances allow for a tranquil experimentation of sound that feels personal. Working on the beginning ambient element of this track, I used an old soundscape of mine to add to the track's atmosphere. Often, I use foley/soundscapes to ground my music and give it a more realistic sound. But here, it felt like it could benefit from something oceanic. And that it did.

The lyricism was then influenced by this decision. I focused a song on an individual sea, whose life is soon to cease. Yet even after the conflict endured across their seemingly infinite years (often from humanity), they remain content and at peace of a life well live. I never intended the track to be so environmentally charged; it just became so throughout the production the process. Us as humans seem to destroy every natural environment, habitat and species in our selfish pursuit of survival. And as we continue to never learn our mistakes, its as if those around us (even though paying the price with their lives) accept their fate and appreciate their identity moreso than we ever could.
