система | system presents the release "Strongly Downward" EP by Ukrainian Kyiv-based artist Andrii Kunin.
‘Strongly Downward’ is a 4-track experimental EP created from digitally processed improvisations on a 32-string 19th-century concert zither.
The author started researching this unique and almost forgotten European string instrument with a bow, prepared techniques, and spectral effects.
The artwork comes from an article by F. Berwein about the zither’s acoustics, picturing the vibration modes of the zither’s resonating lower surface.

Автор почав досліджувати цей унікальний і майже забутий європейський струнний інструмент зі смичка, підготував техніки та спектральні ефекти.
Обкладинка та назва походять від ілюстрації та статті Франца Бервейна 1991 року, де зображено режими коливань резонуючої нижньої поверхні цитри.
