Apu Nanu - I've Been Having Strange Dreams

Athens-based storyteller, sound artist, and producer Apu Nanu draws inspiration from post-internet aesthetics, microtonality, neoclassical themes, and video game nostalgia, blending these influences with playful MIDI manipulation and collage-like sound design. Trained in both Western and Eastern music traditions, they are a multi-instrumentalist interested in exploring new approaches to digital composition.
"I've Been Having Strange Dreams" is a subconscious mirror from recent strange times in our world, and drifts into an abstract liminal space that we often suppress in our daily lives until it resurfaces in our sleep. A dreamy mixture of neoclassical piano, harp, and operatic voices with bubbling transformer FX, metallic liquids, and off-world textures opens a gateway between the psychic and physical world. It’s a collection of intimate, cinematic, and minimal compositions - constantly transforming into new shapes. The EP is set for release on New York electronic fantasy label unseelie on August 8th, 2025.
Previously, they released their debut EP The Untold Saga via Polish label BFF Music -a cinematic soundtrack to an imagined gamespace. Their collaborations include work with artists such as Galen Tipton, Julek Ploski and Oliver Torr, while their music has been choreographed by Zoi Tatopoulos and featured by brands like Valentino. Their work extends to compositions for performances and art installations presented at venues like the Benaki Museum and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.
Following their debut, they began performing across Europe, with appearances in cities such as London, Berlin, Milan, Prague, Brussels and more. They are currenty planning their debut Asia tour this fall to support their new release on unseelie.
