My new single Walking Through Walls was born where the mind slows and imagination begins. Over the past few years, I’ve been exploring the significance of stillness—not as emptiness, but as a quiet reclaiming of my own self from the numbing/anxiety inducing distractions of modern life. In these moments of calm, I reconnect with myself, with nature, intuition, and imagination, and I’ve found that music flows more effortlessly from this place.
I’ve always had an innately urgent inner tempo. I used to create from a restless, anxious energy. Of course, music created from this place can produce cool and important stuff — but I wanted to explore another state. The process of creating this track represented a pivotal shift for me — a reminder of the creativity that sits beyond the noise of a restless mind. Making this track also reminded me of something I believe is true for everyone: every human has innate creativity, often drowned out by the noise, judgement, oppressive and stifling systems, and speed of modern life.
