To celebrate its twentieth anniversary, the Montreal-based label is launching a new series of digital EPs titled Digital Double Series. The concept is simple: two tracks released exclusively in digital format, A-side and B-side. All genres of electronic music are welcome, from experimental to DnB, including electro dub, bassy, IDM, downtempo, and ambient
D.B.Y. and Bios have been making music together for nearly 20 years under the name Komparce. They are also two of the founding members of the Montreal-based electronic music label Chez.Kito.Kat Records.
On this second volume of the Digital Double Series EPs, each artist delivers their own interpretation of dub sonics ; undoubtedly one of their most significant past and ongoing influences. Blending analog basslines with tape echo textures, they each bring their own distinctive touch, resulting in a vision that is both diverse and complementary.
Now living on opposite sides of the ocean, they have fewer opportunities to perform together as Komparce. With this EP, however, they return to their roots with two tracks, released on Chez.Kito.Kat Records and distributed by Underscope
