🗣️I've been actively involved in electronic music since 2020, the year I launched my project Snarexx. That sound blends the energy of ghetto, funk, electro, and jit. At that time, I was inspired by the Detroit scene artists like Detroit In Effect, DJ Nasty, Mr. De', DJ Assault, and others. Most of my tracks were made in Ableton 10. In 2023, I released the final EP under the Snarexx name, titled “Lock Em In Da Funk”, which also came out on vinyl. Since then, the project has been on hold.
By 2023, I had started collecting some hardware: a Tascam mixer, MPC 1000, JV1080, TB-03, and a Lexicon MPX550. I dived into Chicago dance scene as well as 90s Southern rap — Memphis and Houston especially. I was inspired by the records of DJ Screw, Fat Pat, Lil Keke, 8Ball & MJG, DJ Paul, DJ Squeeky, DJ Zirk, DJ Sound, DJ Spanish Fly, MC Mack, Tommy Wright III, Mack DLE, Dance Mania, TRAX and others.✨
2023 was a turning point. I finally found myself in music. I stripped my process down to the essentials and focused on concept and impact. The idea was simple: to create tracks that make your ass move on the dancefloor. The music itself is raw and heavy, but intentionally minimal and ironic — primitive in structure, but elaborate in sound. It’s meant to create a kind of mental dissonance: “What is this weird music?… Damn, but it slaps!”🔥
That’s how the project DJ Satyrias was born. ⚡️⚡️
