Violet Hirst is a singer-songwriter based in Tāmaki Makaurau via Tāhuna, who's music is described as nostalgic and hypnotic. Donegal was produced and recorded in Cromwell, Central Otago '22 by De Stevens (in-house Roundhead engineer). It is a collection of songs that sit as a love-letter to Hirst's time spent between Pōneke and Te Waipounamu.
