This various artists compilation brings together contributions from an international group of musicians, each invited to respond to the theme of presence and absence through sound. The result is a diverse and atmospheric collection that moves through ambient textures, experimental electronics, and field recordings — tracing moments of memory, dislocation, and decay.
Each track offers its own take on the tension between what’s here and what’s gone, creating a listening space where sound becomes both a reminder and a residue — something that holds presence while hinting at what’s no longer there.
Dwam is an interdisciplinary arts collective founded in 2023 by Belle Ehresmann, Jack Miguel, Josh Grey-Jung, and Miri Malek. In 2024, the collective invited 15 artists to take part in a cross-arts residency at Berlin’s temporary urban regeneration site, 90mil. Since then, Dwam has continued running events, bringing together artists working at the intersections of sound, video, dance, and improvised performance.
All proceeds from this release will be donated to MSF to support the humanitarian aid effort in Sudan.
