A reprise record following John Roseboro's Johnny (April, 2023), the Four Cantos EP shows a subtler side of the artists' one of one voice and vision, exploring the existential in a way that makes the difficult feel delicate and the weighty themes, light.
Each song from Four Cantos gives itself to meditation, doing exactly what it says it will do: How To Pray, a song about not knowing how to pray that is, in itself, a prayer, to How To Go To Heaven whose lush string and woodwind arrangements keep their promise to transcend.
The record also hosts a choir of familiar faces and fan favorites including Brad Stank, Juliana Chahayed, sign crushes motorist and a co-write and performance from Mei Semones on the closing track “How To Cope”.
The defiantly tender record is being released alongside a book, eponymously titled “Four Cantos,” a self help primer, exploring the same themes. Available November 1, 2023.
