about
Drawing from influences across Electronic Dance, Glitchy Electronica, and Cinematic-Ambient, the EP’s sound is expansive yet personal—marked by textural depth and fearless experimentation. “*angel b0i* is about chasing your best self through uncertainty. It’s a growth journey shaped by loss, love, and the desire to evolve,” says Hylander.

The project showcases Hylander’s forward-thinking production and songwriting, reflecting the strength and creativity of young First Nations artists. Several tracks took shape at exclusive writing camps with hosts such as APRA AMCOS and Mushroom Group, where Hylander was handpicked to create alongside acclaimed artists & writers. This industry-backed creative process has shaped angel b0i into a powerful artistic statement—honest, genre-defying, and uniquely grounded in culture and community.

1 “Sorry Business” (2:05)
A brief, atmospheric opener that sets a reflective tone. With its spare textures and understated beat, the track evokes the ritual of reckoning—an acknowledgment of loss, obligation and cultural weight. As the title suggests, this is a moment of introspection: Hylander introduces the idea of moving through responsibility and memory, creating a respectful space before the rest of the EP unfolds.
2 “angel b0i” (2:08)
The title‑track and emotional core of the EP. Here the soundscape expands—lush pads, glitch‑textures, vocal fragments—conveying a journey toward a better self amid uncertainty. The track functions like a statement of intent: one who aspires, who moves toward light (“angel b0i”) even while navigating shadows. It reflects the EP’s theme of “chasing your best self through uncertainty.”
3 “Epsilon” (feat. DEVAURA & Montgomery) (4:04)
A more expansive collaboration that mixes emotive melody with immersive production. The inclusion of guest artists adds vocal presence and narrative layering. “Epsilon” suggests the idea of margin, of small degrees of change or difference—Hylander uses this as a metaphor for growth and transformation. The track’s sweeping arrangement and layered vocals anchor the EP’s progression from reflection to evolution.
4 “Fallin” (feat. Eskatology, Madi Colville‑Walker & MARLON) (2:56)
With a more kinetic pace and collaborative dynamic, “Fallin” brings in rhythm and tension. The featured voices and production work together to articulate the pull of gravity—metaphorical and literal—toward past patterns, failed connections or internal resistance. Here Hylander confronts the moment of descent, the struggle to rise again, and the moments when one must fall in order to rise. The sonic palette supports this with a blend of ambient undercurrent and driving beats.
5 “Untethered” (feat. Montgomery) (2:10)
A minimalist, crisp piece that carries the motif of release. “Untethered” suggests cutting loose from previous anchors—whether emotional, cultural, relational—and exploring freedom of movement. In the context of the EP, this is the moment of loosening constraints. Musically, the track feels open‑ended with space built in, emphasising breath, pause and kinetic potential.
6 “Blue Moon” (feat. Montgomery) (2:24)
A closing track that combines the ephemeral and the expansive. The title—“Blue Moon”—invokes rarity, transcendence and a night‑time horizon. It suggests that after the journey through responsibility, aspiration, transformation, descent and release, one reaches a moment of uncommon clarity. Sonically, it wraps the narrative in a soft glow, ending the EP with a sense of possibility, calm and forward momentum.
