Based around a truck backing up outside my studio. ---- I wrote it mostly in my new studio in industrial Brooklyn, where I was starting to soundproof, using acoustic treatment, bass traps, diffusers, and absorption to deaden sound and make the recording environment as controlled as possible. During that process, I was hearing so much screeching industrialized Brooklyn through my studio windows. In the past, this has been very annoying! But something changed, I realized how much I loved it! How much I wanted to embrace the noise in my music, how much fuller life could be if instead of shutting out the world, I work with it. Every day at dawn, a cacophony of trucks starts backing up outside on my little loud corner, and I recorded them, and I played my piano. That is breeze, a new chapter <3
