''Both of Athens ex-pat Dimitris Papadatos’ tapes as Jay Glass Dubs bear the same description, emphasizing that the project is primarily a stylistic exercise. A “counter factual” approach to the history and tropes of dub, “stripped down to its basic drum/bass/vox/effects form.” Although I can’t speak as well as others to its rigor as an experiment, it does encompass a distinctive set of signifiers. Fairly cosmopolitan in the end balance, for listeners who come to dub down more heady pathways Papadatos’ relative minimalism may run the risk of seeming over-dry or conventionally urban — its energy certainly airs on the reserved side. His second tape has a more polished sense of psychedelics, less atmospheric than his self-titled debut for Paris-based Hylé Tapes, though as an acknowledged sculptural exercise that seems like a fair risk to embrace.''
