Known for their artistry and dynamic interplay, the Toby Wren Standards Trio presents fresh interpretations of jazz standards, blending tradition with inventive flair. Expect sophisticated improvisation, deep musical connection, and a performance that breathes new life into classic repertoire.

Toby Wren has been an improvising guitarist and prolific composer in the Australian jazz scene since 2000. He has produced eight albums of his own original compositions, including the recent Songs for Dead Sailors (MNM, 2025). For this performance he is joined by Andrew Shaw, who seamlessly integrates knowledge of carpentry in the construction of his relentlessly driving double bass playing, and Aaron Jansz, known for his scathing product reviews and because he can run further than anyone, on this occasion wringing the nastiest swing grooves out of a drum kit this side of the river.
