The word symbiocene was coined by philosopher Glenn Albrecht to describe a new vision for what the world could look like after the more human centric, anthropocene. In this imagined symbiocene, humans learn to live in mutually beneficial harmony with all beings, to understand that we’re part of a larger whole.
Lately I’ve been asking myself, how can I serve that larger system that is the Earth? How can collaborate with the natural world in a non-extractive way? Can I slow down long enough to really listen to what they have to say?
This record was a way for me to work through some of those questions. And also an attempt to translate some of the love and the joy and the sorrow I feel when I’m sitting quietly in the woods.
