Disposable Gods is an exploration of the concept of power and the cyclical nature of oppression.
The thirst for power is a fundamental part of human nature. Those who seek it speak of a desire to shape the world for the better, but this often disguises a hidden truth: the will to rule as they see fit.
History has shown that this impulse creates a predictable and dismal cycle that shows those in charge becoming detached and inevitably prioritizing their personal, social, economic, and racial privileges through impunity and force.
This pattern manifests across nations and ideologies throughout history, whether in Israel and the USA’s Zionist expansion policies, India’s hyper-charged Hindutva, or the familiar entrenched class hierarchies seen in Indonesia and many more. In each case, power seeks legitimacy through wealth, extremely militarized authority forces, the suppression of dissent, and the instrumentalization of the vulnerable to maintain control.
Yet power is fragile. When the masters lose all control of their defiant subjects, they are brought down, filthy and frightened, back to earth as mortals once more and brought to the slaughter for their crimes to rapturous celebration.
However, the resulting power vacuum, never truly empty, is vulnerable for the taking. Those who eventually fill it must maintain their vision somehow.
