“LA HERENCIA DEL ODIO,” the album from Venezuelan artist Lyéo, explores the social transmission of hate as an emotional inheritance in an attempt at a sonic transcription of how it is conceived, transmitted, and experienced throughout each stage of socialization.
LA HERENCIA DEL ODIO compiles conversations between noisy synthesizers, effects processors, and guitar amplifiers, which create layers that, through exaggerated processes of dynamics and sonic destruction, struggle with each other for a single plane of attention offered to the listener of this bitter amalgam of distorted textures, feedback landscapes, a congested low end, broken vocals, metallic screeches, and the sound's own reactions to the exaggerated processing.
