Massive Scrolls' first label compilation: A futuristic collection of medieval experiments.
Before conceptualizing this project, Massive Scrolls visited Italy in hopes of finding a secret from the middle ages. What we found was the unique beauty held within early musical manuscripts. It was a crucial trip that planted the direct seed for this idea. The album art features one photograph from the journey.
Each artist that submitted used their own futuristic production techniques to realize the medieval theme. Rather than resulting in utter chaos, this process created a perfect interconnected harmony of experimental sound.
The twelve tracks represent the twelve notes of western musical notation which can be traced to the medieval world.
