There are winters that aren’t outside, but settle within. Written from the cold of Stockholm, “Mantas” explores the sadness that grows from inside and the need to “harden oneself” in order to survive the loneliness of being far from home. It becomes a sonic refuge for those nights that turn so sad, so cold, and so long that no blanket is enough to cover the emptiness. It explains this through the metaphor of frozen streets—those icy veins that no longer have the capacity to reconnect you with who you once were.
