Resurfacing at Eastern Nurseries following 2023’s "Sunless", London-based producer Mirror Organs returns with "the leaves closest to the light fall last". Adopting a measured focus across the EP’s five tracks, Pooley trades blown-out breaks for crystalline percussion and brevity, finding a home between the intricate clockwork of ’90s IDM and the smudged edges of witch house.

Tinged with an air of nocturnal inkiness, the melodies appear as spectral silhouettes—vaporous textures that coagulate into something acutely anemoic. As if tracing the passage of time in slow dissolve, "the leaves closest to the light fall last" is an assured development of Mirror Organs’ craft. The night holds its shape. Something settles.
