Moon Over Swamp (MoS) is a brand new project from singer/songwriter Rojnita Shyangden (aka Nindramaya) and producer/sound designer Auryn Waring (aka Shinamo Moki). Rojnita who is originally from Nepal, is currently based in New York while Auryn is based between London and Shanghai.
With a focus on ethereal electronica tinged with 90's pop, dance and R&B, they form a familiar, yet otherworldly atmosphere combining these elements alongside Rojnita’s native language of Nepal. The album has moments of brooding angst and indecisiveness such as Bracelet & Siren, and then the softer more lovelorn sentimentalism with 'Mann Ta''.
Moon Over Swamp is a self titled concept album with lyrics mostly written in Rojnita's native language of Nepali. This was a deliberate choice to retroactively insert a piece of her identity into the music she grew up hearing, which was mostly western pop and R&B songs from the 90's and 2000's. Adding to the already ethereal atmosphere of this EP, the re-pitched and slowed down versions plunge the self titled EP into a new depth of otherworldly mysticism and fantasy.
