Primero’s practice unsettles the boundary between the human and the non-human. Music for Horses, born from a horse-related accident, explores this tension through ambient music that Primeiro defines as “ambient manija”—obsessive ambient.
Initially released digitally in 2024, Music for Horses I drew comparisons to Hiroshi Yoshimura, but revealed deeper layers of handcrafted minimalism. In June 2025, Music for Horses I & II arrives on vinyl via Sonôsfera (Buenos Aires), Danzee (Berlin), and EX:IN | IN:EX (Chemnitz). Side B, recorded before the accident, was released in 2024; side A was composed afterward and is now released for the first time.
Floating arpeggios and repetitive sequences explore the space between ambient and manual electronics. For the digital edition, Primeiro slowed the vinyl down on a turntable, re-recorded it, added drum machines, and reshaped it using Buchla 100/200 synthesizers and tape machines at EMS Stockholm. The result: warped, stretched versions that echo the viral “slowed down” aesthetic found on YouTube, transforming melody into texture and time into atmosphere.
