Imagine Andy Stott and The Notwist throwing an illegal rave at an abandoned amusement park - this is the sound of Nacht 84. The debut album A New Phantom is a dreamy pop amalgam where big Synth-moments are dissolving into lovely sound particals, surrounding you like a warm hug on a cold hangover morning. Influences of Grime and Techno are paired with fragile Cello Lines, contributed by M.C. Schlameuse (Tricky/Toechter) while in The Baggage the tender Voice of Elif Dikeç (Melike Şahin Band) appears floating over a lush pop arrangement and a gritty 808. Last but not least Nacht 84 lends his own voice for two songs making A New Phantom not only his musical but also his vocal debut. In this way Nacht 84 is delivering subtle Pop Fantasies, ruff Beats and epic Synth-Arppeggios strolling together through a rainy night in an unknown metropolis.
