Nama Haga is the title of Niilas’ upcoming album, translated as “untitled” in Northern Sámi.
The album has a colorful, danceable, and playful expression, characterized by samples and drum machines. Niilas’ melancholic and experimental universe shines through a lens reminiscent of his first album from 2020.
Much of the music was created between projects and while traveling, and shows a creative surplus and a sense of joy in the music. The title itself is a homage to the late multidisciplinary artist Áillohaš.
Niilas invites the artists Why Kai and Resa Saffa Park for one collaboration each, and pulls the album in a somewhat more accessible and open direction than his last couple of releases.
The album also comes with a series of music videos. These are mainly directed and written by Lea Meyer, with a handful of simpler, DIY videos in addition.
