A moment of silence dedicated to all those killed as a result of Russian aggression in Ukraine for the past 10 years.
Looking for every definition of what ambient music can mean for society, some thinkers came to the conclusion to consider it as the sound culture of everyday life. A relationship between musical signifiers and historical, social, psychological signifieds plus their proper aesthetic value. Finding this theory quite reasonable, Ucare decided to provide the blueprint for collaborations between musicians and direct political action, a strategy of musical practice that will be one of the key fields of its future activity. Yet everyday life is a permanent pain, there is some space to reflect on this.
Based on the ideas of the Ultra-Red collective, we believe that any sound act can have political power and acquire subjectivity, and each musician in this context is a social actor, always facing a choice of what semantic subtext will be contained in his sound act. Politically Engaged Ambient Music, as a political act, is a call to analysis, reflection, reassessment and action. It was created to serve as an entryway for you and us, a new generation of activists and movements, exposing anti-war people to everyday analysis – "where are we now?".
