‘Hyper:lost’ purveys two interlinked but distinct sides of an artist whose reputation has spanned a long and ever maturing path of sonic development. Where Raär’s signature intricacy manifests in the grittier ‘hyper’ half of ‘hyper:lost’, Whylie counters with the haunted but sentimental spatiality of the other - the ‘lost’.

For this is like a search through the dialectic of the machine; energetic fluxes and frenetic textural modulations of the hyperreal encounter swirls of melancholy and lush human washes of its seeker. These are the contradictions of a determinedly uncertain pursuit; of a head charge into the void.

Twin parts diagnosis and remedy of a present insanity. Heads down and knees up for the end.
