Body Method is happy to welcome Raido to the label for its second release.
Giancarlo Renzi, aka Raido, a Costa Rican-born, Albany-based producer and graphic designer, coins the term “Eco-Tek”: a fusion of natural soundscapes and high-velocity club music that pulses with life, chaos, and elemental force following his self-release "Intro to Eco-Tek".
Across four tracks, CAPS LOCK, Nautica, Pain Relief, and Mountain Fires, Raido distills the untamed energy of jungles and mountainous terrain into percussive, bass-heavy mutations that shift between predatory intensity and fleeting moments of stillness.
These tracks don’t just borrow from the natural world; they inhabit it. Field recordings of rustling leaves, birds whispering, and insect chatter dissolve into rhythms that hit with the force of a landslide. Latin Bass grooves entangle with contemporary Leftfield Bass, Gqom’s rolling tension, the kinetic urgency of Breaks, and Techno’s relentless drive, managing to create something organic yet mechanized. CAPS LOCK is a brash opener, all jagged edges and shifting percussion solidifying the EP's intentions from the start, while Nautica sways with an ethereal pull that evokes the ebb and flow of ocean tides, but not without the rough waters the waves may bring. Pain Relief is a misnomer, its pulsating, cutting rhythms acting more as weapons than salve, while the collaborative track with Durban, South Africa's Gqom connoisseur Emo Kid titled "Mountain Fires" closes things out with a slow-burning intensity, embers crackling beneath thick layers of ominous chants and driving kicks.
It’s rare for club music to feel so deeply rooted in the earth, yet Eco-Tek thrives in the tension between organic and synthetic. It’s the sound of predator and prey locked in an endless chase, the dense canopy above giving way to neon strobes below. For Body Method, this release solidifies its mission: to push dance music into genre-blurring evolutionary states, where the elements of nature become instruments, and the club floor transforms into wild terrain.
