South London vocalist/producer Saint Jude is pleased to share his new track ‘Hold Tight London’, courtesy of Slow Dance Recordings.
Taking its name from the cult London-based series of skate videos and a track from The Chemical Brothers’ Push The Button LP, ‘Hold Tight London’ is a bittersweet melding of distorted drum machines, buoyant guitar licks and Jude’s unmistakable vocal, equal parts intimate and eerily distant.
“This song was kind of me exercising some of this nostalgia I’ve been feeling - particularly a nostalgia for a past version of my city - the London of 10-15 years ago,” Jude says of the new track. “London is a subject that I’ve written about many times, particularly when I was younger. I think I had a bit of a sense that the city was changing in a way that might leave me behind, and I was anticipating that in my songs and stuff. London is quite a painful place to be right now. So much is being lost and so much is changing.”

Jude’s compositions capture London’s essence in a manner that very few artists can. Murky and - at times - claustrophobic, each track is threaded together with a sense of tender humanity which pierce the coarse exterior.
After a budding DJ career was cut short with debilitating tinnitus, Jude turned to alternative music outlets with which to express himself, pairing his prowess in production and touchstones from the world of electronic music with guitar and subtler soundscapes. His long-awaited inaugural live performance took place at Village Underground ahead of the release of his debut LP after working with his team to secure in-ear monitors that cause minimal aggravation to his tinnitus.
Jude has kept a characteristically low profile since the November 2023 release of his debut album Signal: a collaboration-driven, genre-shunning portrait of the scene that he calls home.
