Occupying the liminal, low-lit space between the subterranean beats of Blood Orange and the emotive folk of Aldous Harding, Perth alt-pop duo SCRATCHING bring you “Diagnosis”, the new single from singer-songwriter Grace Sanders and co-writer/producer Ezekiel Padmanabham.
Continuing their restless quest to meld cerebral, idiosyncratic electronica with warm, soulful vocals, SCRATCHING represents another massive step forward for the band, unveiling a track that is by turns experimental but accessible, compelling yet oddly troubling – a ghost trapped inside the shiny pop machine, suffocated by the fumes of desire. “I think everything I do”, sighs Sanders, “mostly boils down to craving you”.
SCRATCHING is the electronic alt-pop brainchild of singer-songwriter Grace Sanders and co-writer/producer Ezekiel Padmanabham. Exploring the boundaries between pop, electronic and indie-folk, the duo infuse the spirit of experimentation and playfulness into their performances and recorded works. Initially working under Grace Sanders, the pair have recorded and released two EP’s together; GUMS in 2021 and 2022’s Nothing Is Personal which earned them acclaim from Triple J, Tone Deaf, NME, Pilerats, MTV Australia & more.
