Scrawl's debut compilation 'String It Together' brings together a constellation of distinct and exploratory voices working within contemporary sound. It features new works from Margate-based composer M2C (Raven Bush, Speakers Corner Quartet); London experimental orchestral trio Siblings of the Earth (Damsel Elysium, Amirah de Bourg and Alistair Welsh); Manchester-based British-German experimental cellist and improviser lili holland-fricke; cyberfolk violinist and producer FLOCO; avant-garde cellist Ramilda; Berlin-based Mexican violinist Gibrana Cervantes (Amor Muere); Edinburgh-based composer Jo Paterson; and London-based Polish-Jamaican cellist, composer and conductor Zara Hudson-Kozdój.
Together, these artists extend the vocabulary of string practice through improvisation, avant-garde chamber music, extended techniques, folk mutation and electroacoustic experimentation, creating a truly eclectic and expansive sonic landscape of contemporary string explorations.
All compilation proceeds will be equally split and donated to:
