Sepalot's musical output can be classified somewhere between "multi-layered" and "schizophrenic", but if you know his musical socialization, everything makes sense again. From skate punk rock, he moved on to soul all-nighters and became a passionate vinyl collector, eventually becoming completely absorbed in the golden era of hip-hop, where sampling and beatmaking became his natural habitat as a producer. He lived out these influences as a DJ and part of club culture, as well as in the form of his live project, the Sepalot Quartet, with whom he plays jazz festivals throughout Europe. On his latest album, "neverlost", all these influences melt together. An amazing fusion of archaic rhythms and atmospheric intimacy.
